About me
I began my career in Hillel at Ohio State University and SUNY, and held leadership positions in the Association of Hillel and Jewish Campus Professionals. In 1986, I transitioned into congregational life. first at North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, IL, then the United Jewish Center in Danbury, CT. I then served as the URJ Regional Director in Canada, where Camp George was founded under my watch. Finally, I concluded my career at the Vassar Temple, Poughkeepsie, NY.
In addition to rabbinic service, I led a number of interfaith councils, helped organize three Jewish-Muslim dialogues, and served as the chair for a multi-faith dialogue committee for the centenary observance of the Council of World Religions.
While working for the URJ, I also served as Director of ARZA Canada, and in returning to the US, as an ARZA representative to the American Zionist Movement, including two terms as its Vice-President.
I have published articles on interfaith relations, Zionism and Jewish Thought, and had the honor of being Editor-in-Chief of the Reform Jewish Quarterly.
